We have 500 cows down here in beautiful Southland. Set on 180 Ha we are just 40 mins drive from the township of Winton. We milk our cows through a 40 aside Herringbone system but we really need someone who is not just happy to learn to milk cows but who just has a really good strong work ethic and is willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. We will teach you everything you need to know but if you can ride a motorbike that would be a huge advantage to us. Some experience with stock animals would be handy too.

There is a lovely 3 bedroom house for you to live in, which is not shared, it is furnished but it also 3k’s from the farm, so if you use your own car to get to and from the farm a tank of petrol will be supplied each fortnight.

With an hourly rate of $20 per hour plus 8% leave loading, you could be working up to 50 hours a week, if not more some weeks as we are short staffed right now.

Dairy Farm Worker Job

With regards to rent for the house, it is valued at $170 a week including power, however, you do not pay this out of your hourly rate, it is added on, so for example as an annual salary this would be equivalent to a salary package of around $65 k based on 50 hours per week and including the house.

We are offering a good salary but do expect in return someone who is hard working, doesn’t mind early starts, willing to get stuck in and must keep our house clean and tidy.

Dairy Farm Manager

Our client owns and operates a dairy farming business located in Mayfield, Mid Canterbury, consisting of two dairy units’ side by side and farmed together as one. The 264eff ha farm is developed to a high standard with good housing, two herringbone milking sheds, high fertility, good pastures and reliable irrigation. The business plans to peak milk 870 cows next season.

We are seeking to employ a skilled, motivated Farm Manager to manage all aspects of the operation of the farm business.
